This site has been initiated to provide current and future clients with up to date information pertaining to not only Reiland Angus Genetics’ new horizons, but also on industry advancement, domestic and global issues that affect all areas of primary production.
Many websites merely attempt to sell products that the company wishes to benefit from, however with the benefit of 35 years of registered cattle breeding (est. 1973), the Lucas Family believe the industry relies on more than just cattle alone.
Past knowledge demonstrates that forming strong business and personal relationships based on honesty, knowledge, service and delivering profitable genetics is what successful modern business’ are based upon.
Hopefully you will appreciate the benefit of effective information / knowledge that is imparted through a proactive website medium.

Reiland Angus Genetics is proud of our history and excited about the future that is unfolding before us for the production of high quality, pleasurable beef-eating experiences.
Undoubtedly profitability in agriculture is challenged by:

    1. Current massive cost : price squeeze on fertiliser, fuel, etc;
    2. On-going under-performing seasons;
    3. Global grain shortage and price increase;
    4. Shrinking labour pool to work within agriculture;
    5. The massive government commitment to the whole issue of climate change.

Quality, tender, tasty beef will always be in demand as all “centre of the plate protein” will rise in price regardless of whether it is chicken, pork, lamb or beef.
Reiland Angus Genetics is committed to profitably supply livestock to satisfy these markets.

“Your Brand of Distinction”

HERD PROGRESS
Investing in progressive genetics, not just bulls!

We take pride in developing fertile, productive Angus cattle with superior carcase traits.

The on-going challenging seasonal fortunes certainly highlight the need for constitution in cattle that allows them to survive and perform, in comparison to genotypes that cannot cope with anything less than 4-5 star lodgings. Reiland is proud of its selection criteria that excludes “sissy cows” from entering the herd, despite high performance Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs). From bitter experience, there is little comfort in selling the best empty cows.

Reiland cattle display pleasing muscularity and growth with productive slick hair types that reflect quality and on-going growth potentials. Importantly the herd’s EBV’s for carcase traits continue to improve where our mission is to further enhance these traits, but not to the detriment of “on farm” profit drivers of fertility, constitution, structure and growth. It is our policy to avoid over-zealous single trait selection.
Additive, progressive genetic advancement is certainly being achieved with carefully considered Embryo Transfer (ET), Artificial Insemination (AI) and use of high merit follow-up herd sires. We recommend your consideration of Reiland Angus Genetics and assure you that no other herd can provide the same standard of quality, after sales service and guaranteed genetic progress at such affordable values.
